April PhotoWalk

It has been a long winter.  If any of you are like me, you get a little claustrophobic and anxious during the winter months.  The weather is finally changing for the better, and there are signs of spring all around us.  Flowers blooming, trees budding, the animals and birds are out.  Its time to get out of the house, and enjoy the beauty all around us.
I had a few Easter portrait sessions this weekend. So a good part of my week has been spent indoors editing.  Yesterday I had enough of looking at the yellow walls in my office, and enough of staring at a computer screen.  I grabbed my daughter and my younger sister and headed outdoors!  Of course I had my camera with me, and decided to spend the day taking pictures.

To start off with, my daughter had a half day.  So we went to grab lunch and headed to my favorite park.  The spring flowers were blooming, the trees are covered with ruby red buds, and the ducks and geese, and even a seagull, were all out enjoying the day.  The colors of the world really grab me.  The red on the buds, the blue sky, and the now emerald green grass.  It was a long dull colored winter, and these colors make my heart sing.

We spent over an hour in the park, until it was time for my sisters Dr appointment.  While waiting for her to finish up her appointment, my daughter and I decided to go smell the "roses".  In our case it was the daffodils.  I teased my daughter, because when she was little she called them Laugh a dills.   We sat on a retaining wall, and talked and looked at the flowers.  It was a nice time.  I rather enjoyed it.
After my sister got out of her appointment, we started off back towards my house.  Or so i thought.  I went the wrong way and ended up driving away from my house.  Well, I took this opportunity to make another photo stop.  I have always wanted to photograph this building, since I was very young.  And I figured that I must have went the wrong way for a reason, Today is the day to shoot it!

Luckily for me, I was with the 2 people that dont mind following me on my spur of the moment trips.  They love spending time doing the unexpected, and not having a plan.

It was a great day, and I fully intend on doing this more often!  I have a huge list of local places I want to shoot! OH I forgot to mention, blockhead came with us too.  but he was bad, and got banished to the car after the park!
