Facebook Changes, and Algorithms

Alot of my photography friends are in a panic.  Since the facebook changes, and the new algorithm theory out there, Photographers and other page owners are terrified if you dont like enough of their posts, they wont show up in  your feed anymore.  

From what I can tell, and have experianced already, this is true.  In part.  A fraction of posts are being hidden, there are alot of fan pages, that Im simply not seeing all posts.  This could make it so you miss out on sales, specials and one time only events.  If you like enough of my posts, this shouldnt be a problem.  But if by chance your worried about missing something from one the pages your a fan of.  Here is a little trick, that Im currently testing out.  

on the left hand side of your page there is a section called lists.

Here it catagorizes people in your family, hometown, school ect.  If you hover over where the list there will be a hidden link that shows up next to the word LISTS that says MORE.  Click it.

Your screen will look like this after you click MORE.

Click +Create a list and you will get a popup window

I chose the name PHOTOGS.  But you can use anything, like pages i like, or just pages. whatever.  

There will be a link to click to ADD FRIENDS.  you can click it and add whoever you like to your list.  You can add people on your friend list, or if you click the drop down menu that says FRIENDS (as seen here)  You can change it from Friends to Pages, and chose whatever pages you like to add to your list.

It takes just a few minutes, and is fairly easy.  Now I notice in my lists catagory, all the pages I am a fan of, is showing up as well.

I dont want any of my fabulous fans to have to LIKE something on my page, they dont really like.  This just leads to notifications on posts you dont care about, and a clogged up notification box.
