2012 Business plans and changes.

I have been debating a few changes for the past several months.  After a lot of research, questioning myself, and praying over everything I have decided to make some changes.  I know that no one likes changes, however, I promise these changes will all be for the best in the long run.

There will be a pricing increase.  I have been undercutting myself for a while now.  The amount of time I put into each session divided between the hours I am putting into editing, I am not even making minimum wage.  I will however continue doing sales, discounts, and giveaways.  Pricing information can be found on my website Rivera Artistry Photography  Most of you like to book during Mini session specials, and as you will see the price for that hasn't changed.

All future Michigan sessions must be paid at the time of scheduling your appointment.  I have limited my time slots to ensure I get to see my family. There have been a few cases where I had no shows, or last minute cancelations, when there were other clients wanting those spots.  Paying up front gives us both some insurance that your time slot is secured, and that those who really want the sessions, get them.

Virginia fans, I will be offering a reward system.  For every 5 clients you send my way (that purchase a full session) I will give you a free session!

I have also decided that I will no longer be shooting weddings.  I dont enjoy weddings, I would rather be a guest at the party, than working at it.  I have thought long and hard about this, and decided its just not worth it to me.  It takes a certain type of photographer to do weddings, and I am just not that type.  I love working one on one, or in small groups.  I love making individuals feel beautiful, and I dont get that from weddings.
I will absolutely still continue to do couples, engagement sessions, and bridal portraits, just not formal ceremonies or receptions.

The amount of time spent on sessions, and the amount of pictures you receive on your disk is also changing.  You will be getting more time with the photographer, so that none of us feel rushed.

I also have in my plans to upgrade equiptment this year.  I will also be opening more options for indoor sessions, whether it be in my home, or yours.

2011 was a fantastic year.  I thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart.  This journey with you, is beyond words.  I hope that you will continue to stand by my side, as we embark on the new wonderful year ahead of us.  I promise to keep putting my heart and soul into our sessions, and my work. I promise to continue my quest for knowledge and thirst for enhancement.  I will never stop trying to become greater, and give you memories to last a lifetime.
